As a basket maker I have been inspired by the New England Shaker Communities and by traditional Taconic folk basket makers. These two groups derived much of their design and tradition from Native American Basketry.
Hand pounded brown/black ash
(Fraxinus nigra) tree splint is the pure and simple material used to create
three forms of baskets for functional use and display. All baskets are handmade
with a traditional Shaker mold in Lexington, Mass.
Near museum quality, these baskets may last a life time.
Shaker baskets are a wonderful gift, display, or functional carrier. For an
additional charge all baskets can be shipped as a gift basket with specialty
items from Wilson's Farm in Lexington, Massachusetts.
